Frequently Asked Questions – KSP Senior Sessions

At Karen Stauffer Photography, we only accept a limited number of seniors each year in order to provide our clients with a personalized experience. We strive to personalize every detail of your experience.

What does the session fee cover? Does it include any images?

The session fee is paid at the time you book your experience, and is non-refundable. This fee covers the planning and preparation for the session, the time and talent of the photographer during the session, the makeup artists, the image and video preparation and the session premiere where you view and select your images and products.

The session fee does not include any image or products, and is a non-refundable fee that is required in order to secure your session date and sales appointment on our calendar.

Can I have my pet in any of the photos?

Sure! We usually do those at the very beginning or toward the end of a photo session so a family member can take care of them. We don’t suggest keeping a pup in the car (even air conditioned) for the entire session.

Can I bring props for my photos?

Yes! Please feel free to bring anything that represents who you are at this time of your life! I have seniors bring, military uniforms, musical instruments, vehicles, skateboards, ski’s, guns, animals, fishing equipment, sports equipment, religious books etc. Let’s feature you and the things that are important to you!

When is the minimum investment due?

By booking your senior portrait session you are making a commitment to the $700 minimum investment required for your session premiere.

Do I have to come in for a consultation?

The Consultation is not a requirement but is something we offer and highly encourage.   This is a time to get to know you and begin to plan out every detail of your experience. The consultation is relaxing and fun, and will help you start to envision your story as we bring it to life.

Do you photograph in your studio or on location?

Most of our work is done on location but occasionally do some indoors.  It really depends on the client and ideas we have for the session.

How many outfits will I get to wear?

You will wear 3-4 outfits during your session.

When will I get to see the images from my session?

When you book your senior experience, we will be booking 2 dates at this time:

  • The session date
  • Your Session Premiere

Your sales appointment is the time where you will come to the home studio to view the images from your session and make your final selections to purchase. We require that all decision makers are present at this appointment. This appointment is typically scheduled 7-14 days after your session.

When you schedule these appointments, please be sure that every decision maker will be able to attend ahead of time.

When will I get my order?

Depending on your final selections, your custom products will be ready 3-4 weeks after the sales appointment.

How long do you keep my images?

Non-ordered images are removed from our system within 24 hours of the session premiere. We do not keep any files which are not ordered at your sales appointment.  All ordered images are archived up to one (1) year from the date of the session premiere.

What happens if I need to reschedule my session?

In case of bad weather we will reschedule the session.

For reschedules for personal reasons, We are able to provide a one-time reschedule if you notify us a minimum of 48 hours prior to your appointment. Additional reschedules will require a fee of $150 per occurrence, and are subject to schedule availability.

Can I make a copy of my image to print?

All images remain property of Karen Stauffer Photography and are protected under U.S. Federal Copyright Laws. Duplication in part or in whole (including, but not limited to, scanning or reprinting) is strictly prohibited and may incur fines up to $10,000 per image as defined by law.
